Why did you join CoStar?
I have always worked in the commercial property industry. CoStar has given me the opportunity to develop my property knowledge and hone the skills I gained working as a chartered surveyor. I used CoStar products before joining, but it wasn't until I joined that I realised how committed the company is to being a leading property information provider.
What's the highlight of your experience to date?
CoStar has a very dynamic working environment and continually offers opportunities for individuals to progress their career. I have progressed from a Research role to manage the Investment Comps and Planning team very quickly. This has brought exciting new challenges and allowed me to gain variable management experience.
Where do you see yourself in 10 years time?
I have a genuine interest in commercial property and I hope to continue to grow our property investment database. Also, I want to build on the working relationships I have developed with my client base over the past year.
What advice would you give to someone who is interested in working in property investment research?
The investment deals we track can be varied and sometimes complex, therefore a broad knowledge of the commercial property market is helpful. However, if you show enthusiasm and interest in the property transactions that our clients are completing it has a positive effect, making the research process easier.
