What's your background?
Having completed my undergraduate degree in PPE, I studied for an MSc in Real Estate at Reading University. Given my preference for the analytical aspect of the industry, I joined Property and Portfolio Research (PPR) and worked with the European forecasting team with my areas of attention being Eastern Europe.
Why did you decide to join CoStar?
I didn't find CoStar as much as it found me. PPR were acquired by CoStar in 2009 in order to marry their unrivalled deal level data with PPR's analytics.
What's the highlight of your experience to date?
Apart from the ultracompetitive CoStar softball showdowns....My first six months here have evolved around unlocking the potential of the unparalleled datasets CoStar have built up over the years into a powerful analytics service. So the highlight has been seeing the emergence of coherent data aggregations from a number of very large, detailed and disparate databases. I have also had to learn a number of new technical skills such as mapping in addition to developing my Excel and Access skills.
