A Day in The Life:

Account Manager

What is your job about?
As an Account Manager, my job involves both managing a portfolio of existing clients and developing new business opportunities. It's all about building relationships through a great deal of communication, and being able to demonstrate the value of our products.

What does your typical day involve?
I like to come into the office around 8am as that is when many of my clients arrive to work and have a bit more time to talk. I use this time to arrange meetings with them and organise my day. I then head out for meetings and return to the office in the afternoon. After work, I will often arrange to meet clients on a more social level and will attend networking events whenever there's a chance: it's the best way to build relationships.

What is the most challenging aspect of your job?
Time management! In my role I have to attend meetings both with existing clients - to ensure they are being looked after - and with prospects in order to sell to them. It is crucial to get really organised.

And the best part?
It's definitely about meeting people.
